We recommend planning ahead to ensure a smooth experience. For specialist treatments and surgical procedures, it is advisable to plan 3–6 months in advance, allowing sufficient time for medical consultations, hospital appointment scheduling and travel arrangement. For basic health screenings, a shorter planning period of 4–6 weeks is usually sufficient. The standard planning process is: initial consultation → hospital matching → travel arrangement → departure.
Most travelers require a visa or electronic travel authorization to enter Japan or China. Please check the official government websites for the most up-to-date information:
- Japan visa information: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan
- China visa information: Under China’s 2026 visa-free policy, passport holders from a growing list of eligible countries may enter China without a visa for stays of up to 30 days for tourism, business, visiting family, cultural exchange and certain short-term purposes. This arrangement is currently extended through the end of 2026. Chinese Visa Application Service
